WEDDING PREPARATIONS COMMENCE

On the Saturday (28th April) it was time to kick start the wedding preparations with a hair trial for me and best friend and chief bridesmaid Caroline. Due to the fact that the wedding was down in Gloucestershire, the hair dressers obviously had to be there too, so that involved a road trip down there. Caroline and I had a happy reunion when she picked me up – the last time I’d seen her she was in her wedding dress! It was a great opportunity to catch up with each other on the trip down there, and it was also very exciting to see the area where we were getting married (which we had never seen – the location was picked purely through the internet). The countryside in Gloucestershire was beautiful and it was a lovely trip along winding roads into Lydney where the hair salon was situated. The hairdressers thankfully was really nice (difficult to know from just a name!) and the girls doing our hair were lovely. Caroline and I were really happy with the result and then walked around Lydney looking like we were living in the wrong era with our hair in curls! Unfortunately we were all dressed up with nowhere to go as it was late by the time we got home and Andy and all my family were out, we amused ourselves with a few photos and then called it a night (until rudely awakened at 4am by a phone call involving a drunken fiancé, his old house in Osgodby, the A19, several taxis and my brother Stuart…).
